This week has been a hectic week considering that some of my first college apps are due in less than a week! Therefore, today’s post is going to be short and sweet, so I can catch up on some Zzz.
I want to focus on OPTIMISM. It is the key to success in any situation. You can either give up on the spot or focus on your goal and keep yourself motivated! This week I challenge you all to reflect on a time when you have given up and think about how you could have been optimisitc. Now take that lesson, and focus your energy on your new goal! Remember, a positive mind is a happy mind! Optimism is a hard characteristic to establish, but with a little bit of persistence, you will master it!
Below is a little work of art I created in my computer visual arts class and I think it speaks a lot. Enjoy!
“You are the painter of your own mood and your days are only as grey as you allow them to be”
Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you all were able to catch up on your sleep this weekend so you’re all geared up and ready to work for the next few days!
Can you believe it’s already the middle of November?! Time really does fly when we’re hustling and bustling everyday! We are already nearing the end of 2014, which means we are about a third of the way done with the school year. Being a senior in highschool, the clock is ticking and counting down the days left of childhood.
I think the most important thing we need to realize and what most people can improve on is to live in the moment. Don’t think that you’ll get another opportunity in the future, whether it is running for class president, or applying for a job, because chances are, you won’t get another opportunity. Not saying that second chances are never granted, but it’s more that we need to put ourselves out there more often and take that first step toward our goals. It’s okay to be spontaneous! If you make a mistake, learn from them! Cherish those mistakes because it makes up who we are, but at the same time, don’t let them stop you from getting out there and chasing your dreams again.
So, do what you want to do before time gets away from you, and go grab your ambitions and dreams without being scared to fail!
Phew, sorry for the long post but I really believe it’s something that needs to be heard!
Have you ever felt so stressed that you just wanted to give up? Just let go of everything ? Wouldn’t that just be the easy thing to do? We have all been there at some point in our life and whether you are a student or parent, we can all relate to this. It always seems like we have a endless list of things to do and the trick to de-stressing is prioritizing.
1) Be organized. Have a list of everything you want to accomplish in a notebook, agenda or on your calendar.
2) Prioritize your list! Understand when you need to finish each task.
3) Focus. Steadily go through each thing you need to accomplish and before you know it, you’ll be done!
4) Celebrate! Once you finish one thing you need to accomplish, treat yourself to a bath, a show, indulge in some treats, or whatever else you would like. This gives you a little break before you conquer your next task. This is a really important step because no one has a infinite attention span, so clearing your mind or 30 min to a hour will help you reenergize. Your mind & body will love you and you’ll be surprised how fast you finish everything on your list.
5) Repeat. These 5 simple steps will save you! They may seem cliche, but they are the keys to success. Try it this week and let me know how it goes in the comments!
Have a wonderful week everyone!
Hey Everybody!! It’s Monday again!! Another week filled with school, sports and clubs. With so much going on, it’s easy to lose track of why you’re doing all the things you are doing. One of my coaches told us a quote today at practice, and I think that it definitely applies to EVERYONE. “Short-term success gives you a small taste of happiness. Overall happiness gives you long-term success.” I think that the most important thing we can take from this is that nothing is worth your time if you are not enjoying yourself and truly care for it. In everything we do, successes here and there will give you bits and pieces of happy moments that don’t last very long. However being happy about what you do is the key to bring you the success we need in life. On that note, school may be a drag but think about the positive aspects of it and try to be a little more optimistic everyday! It will make you excited and eager to start off a new day in the morning, and the perks of success will automatically come to you! xoxo Kristine
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely day!
I am just swamped with homework tonight and I have a big test coming up tomorrow, so this post is going to be short and sweet.
After a long day, you sometimes question if everything you’re doing is worth it. You may want to just give up, but you have to keep going. Push your boundaries and do not fear failure. Whenever you are overwhelmed, take a step back and evaluate what you are doing. Make sure you are doing what you love and set a timeline for each of your goals. You can track your progress and before you know it, you have accomplished your goal!
“Change all the pressure into pleasure”
First of all, I want to apologize for not posting #MotivationalMonday on a Monday. But in the spirit of hump day, I decided to do a post on a Wednesday!
I know that we are pretty much half way done with the week, and it’s about time we’re wishing for the weekend to roll around again. I think that as humans, we all have a tendency to dwell on the past and never learn to forget our mistakes. We forget that without mistakes, there’s no room for reflection and improvement, and it’s what makes us the people we are today. I’ve got to admit that I’ve had a rough start to this week. One thing led to another and it felt like the rest of the week was just going to go downhill from there. With a negative mindset, sure, it’s possible to have a miserable week. But we need to keep reminding ourselves that “You don’t have to have a great start, but you have to start to be great.” Being scared of failing again is not a good enough reason to quit. Fear is just another reason to try harder. Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try. If a plan doesn’t work, change the plan, NOT the goal.
